Isospin Invariant Density Functional Approach to Atomic Nuclei

Some recent progress in the Skyrme density functional approach to atomic nuclei shall be addressed. In particular, the consequences of the isospin invariance on the resulting mean-field potential shall be the major focus of the presentation. The effects of the isospin symmetry on the proton unbound systems shall also be discussed.
