| Abstract | : |
In this talk, I am going to provide a pedagogical introduction to Dirac materials such as graphene and topological insulators with emphasis on unconventional properties that arises out of the Dirac nature of their low-energy quasiparticles. This will be followed by a description of junctions of topological insulators where such properties manifest themselves in the low-energy tunneling conductance. Finally, I would like to discuss a possible model for coupling such materials to conventional triplet superconductors and show that such junctions can be used to infer the spins state of the Cooper pairs in the superconductor. |
