Simulating strong and electromagnetic interaction at scale

Muon g-2 is one of the most precisely measured quantities in particle  physics. The planned increases in precision at the Muon g-2 experiments at Fermilab and J-PARC necessitate a comparable improvement of the precision in the Standard Model theoretical prediction in order to fully exploit this testing ground for new physics. In this talk, I will discuss a path forward for a precise determination of the leading hadronic
contribution to the muon g-2, which relies on lattice gauge theory formulation of quantum chromodynamics and quantum electrodynamics.
