Baryon Number Violation and Matter Asymmetry in the Universe

The excess of matter compared to antimatter in the universe, which is most crucial for our existence, requires baryon (B) and/or lepton (L) number violation. However, we are yet to observe any B or L violation in nature. So, the different possibilities of B and L violations are studied to understand the baryon asymmetry of the universe. In this talk I shall provide an overview of the subject, mentioning some of our major contributions.
