With mathematics and computer sciences as basis, physical, biological and social sciences are now poised to develop in new interdisciplinary directions. This is due to our ability to handle nonlinear problems. Difference between past and now is that the ability to compute has dramatically changed the scenerio. Encouraged by successful application of mathematics and computational tachniques to studying life and social science phenomena, this centre was started as a mid-term project of the X-th Five-year Plan of the DAE in September 2004. Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics is active in innovative applications of mathematical ideas and computational techniques to inter-disciplinary areas. |
