Hyperuniformity: a new state of matter

Hyperuniform states are liquids having crystal properties. Unlike ordinary fluid, here the disordered arrangement of constituents violate the central limit theorem. Hyperuniformity is found in bird's eye, emulsions, quasi-crystals, large scale structures of universe etc. I will discuss its presence in self organised critical(SOC) systems and explain how it affects the determination of universality. Substantial time will be spent in introducing SOC.
