Research :    ASTROPHYSICS * QUARK-GLUON PLASMA * ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

The basic constituents of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) are quarks which interact through the exchange of gluons. It is believed that shortly after the creation of the universe in the "Big Bang" when the temperature was about a trillion degrees, all matter existed as quarks and gluons in a state called the Quark Gluon Plasma(QGP), along with some electrons and neutrinos. Conditions for creating this highly excited state of primordial matter under controlled laboratory environment using relativistic heavy ion collisions, enable to explore QCD matter that scientists think lasted one millionth of a second (a micro-second) after the "Big Bang" which marked the beginning of the Universe about 14 billion years ago.
